Tools I Use to create my genealogy websites

I have used Bravenet for years and can highly recommend their free and upgraded services!   Today my site is hosted by Bravenet and I use their free tools such as the guestbook, site stats and more...

I am not a programmer but I was able to teach myself Microsoft Front Page fairly easily.  When I need help I call on this great site that supports the Front Page community with experienced technical advice and insightful training for FP site building and online marketing.

One of their best web offers is the great-looking templates that let you easily create your own website in Front Page.  Don't give your genealogy away to other sites.  Build your own place online ...and you don't have to be a professional webmaster to do it!

For the Family Trees I evaluated several options and finally found Gary Welker's great tool that allowed me to build a tree and still use my site look and feel.

Most companies want you to upload your tree to their site for free while they turn around and sell the information to others.  I prefer to offer it for free on my own site and Gary's software is essential for converting those gedcom files to family trees that you can edit and upload to your host of choice.  (I recommend Bravenet... see above!)

This site is a proud member of The American History & Genealogy Project, The Surname Web, and the GenNetwork.org.  Visit their extensive sites for more free histories & genealogies which are organized by state, county and surname.

I host the surname Bare and Moody, as well as historic Clackamas County, Oregon at the American History & Genealogy Project.

We all promote keeping our individual genealogies on our own independent websites, then we link together to build a stronger network of people sharing their stories.

The Surname Web was one of the first genealogy communities on the web... I host the surname Moody.  They also have these helpful sites: Access Genealogy, Genealogy Help
